Some epidemiological concepts, such as population attributable risk and introductory concepts in health promotion are expected knowledge for understanding this unit. For example, attributable risk is necessary to understand the Burden of Disease concept in NCD prevention, and is part of Module 2 of this unit. In addition, this MPH elective predominantly takes a population and global perspective on NCD prevention with a lesser emphasis on clinical or health services prevention perspectives. |
