Cell and Developmental Biology
Honours
Please check the current students website (Find a unit of study) for up-to-date information on units of study including availability.
Honours in Cell and Development Biology is embedded within the Bachelor of Advanced Studies. Honours is comprised of a total of 48-credit points that is distributed across a 36-credit point research project that gives you the opportunity to take part in cutting edge research programs aligned with your degree major(s). Two 6-credit point coursework units will develop fundamental research and communication skills in science together with access to a comprehensive range of modern technology platforms. To view a full list of projects please visit the Honours Hub on the SOLES Student Portal Canvas site
Honours is available to students with a major in Cell and Developmental biology or a cognate area. Admittance into the program is determined by the Faculty of Science as well as the honours coordinator. You will be given advice about connecting with supervisors during your third year and the first step in applying for honours is completing the honours project preferences form.
The cognate majors are: Genetics and Genomics, Medical Science, Biology, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Anatomy and Histology, Ecology and Evolution, Marine Science, Agriculture, Computer science, Information systems, Mathematics, Human Movement, History and Philosophy of Science.
Honours Coordinator:
Associate Professor Andrew Holmes
