Please check the current students website (Find a unit of study) for up-to-date information on units of study including availability.

Honours in geology is a one-year component embedded within the Bachelor of Advanced Studies. It includes a 36-credit point research project that provides the opportunity to examine events from the deep past through to the present and into the future by harnessing Big Data and computer-based models. Students will also complete two 6-credit point coursework units that will aid in the development of fundamental research, ethical and communication skills. The Honours program will provide students with the opportunity to develop real-world research skills and learn how to apply them not only to a specific topic but also to future challenges.

Honours in Geology is available to students with a major in Geology or a cognate area. Admittance into the program is determined by the Faculty of Science as well as the honours coordinator.
