This program is not available to international students studying in Australia with a student visa. The program is available to international offshore students studying in their home country. Intending international on-campus applicants with an interest in Veterinary Public Health should apply for the Veterinary Studies program without a major. These applicants will be advised on selection of appropriate units of study.

The embedded courses in this sequence are:
(a)
the Graduate Certificate in Veterinary Public Health Management
(b)
the Graduate Diploma in Veterinary Public Health Management
(c)
the Master of Veterinary Public Health Management

Providing candidates satisfy the admission requirements for each stage, a candidate may progress to the award of any of the courses in this sequence. Only the longest award completed will be conferred.

Available places will be offered to qualified applicants based on merit, according to the following admissions criteria.
(2)
Admission to candidature for the Graduate Certificate in Veterinary Public Health Management requires:
(a)
a bachelor's degree or higher award from the University of Sydney, or equivalent qualification, in veterinary science, animal science, or a science degree with a focus on animal health, production or welfare.
(b)
In exceptional circumstances the Dean may admit applicants without these qualifications who, in the opinion of the faculty, have qualifications and evidence of experience and achievement sufficient to successfully undertake the award.
(3)
Admission to candidature for the Graduate Diploma in Veterinary Public Health Management requires:
(a)
a bachelor's degree or higher award from the University of Sydney, or equivalent qualification, in veterinary science, animal science, or a science degree with a focus on animal health, production or welfare; or
(b)
completion of the requirements of an embedded graduate certificate in this discipline from the University of Sydney, or equivalent qualification.
(4)
Admission to candidature for the Master of Veterinary Public Health Management requires:
(a)
a bachelor's degree or higher award such as a master's degree from the University of Sydney, or equivalent qualification, in veterinary science, animal science, or a science degree with a focus on animal health, production or welfare.
(b)
completion of the requirements of an embedded graduate certificate in this discipline from the University of Sydney with a WAM of at least 70, or equivalent qualification; or
(c)
completion of the requirements of an embedded graduate diploma in this discipline from the University of Sydney with a WAM of at least 70 in the first 24 credit points completed, or equivalent qualification.

The units of study that may be taken for the courses are set out in Postgraduate Coursework table of units of study.
(2)
To qualify for the award of the Graduate Certificate in Veterinary Public Health Management a candidate must complete 24 credit points of core units.
(3)
To qualify for the award of the Graduate Diploma in Veterinary Public Health Management a candidate must complete 36 credit points, including:
(a)
27 credit points of core units of study; and
(b)
9 credit points of elective units of study.
(4)
To qualify for the award of the Master of Veterinary Public Health Management a candidate must complete 48 credit points, including:
(a)
33 credit points of core units of study; and
(b)
a minimum of 6 credit points of Research units of study; and
(c)
a minimum of 9 credit points of elective units of study.

Except with permission of the Dean, candidates for the Master of Veterinary Public Health Management must obtain a minimum WAM of 70 in the first 24 credit points completed in order to proceed to the Research units of study. Candidates who fail to achieve the required WAM will be transferred to the Graduate Diploma in Veterinary Public Health Management.

A candidate for the master's degree or graduate diploma may elect to discontinue study and graduate with a shorter award from this embedded sequence, with the approval of the Dean, and provided the requirements of the shorter award have been met.

These resolutions apply to students who commenced their candidature after 1 January, 2015 and students who commenced their candidature prior to 1 January, 2015 who elect to proceed under these resolutions.
(2)
Candidates who commenced prior to 1 January, 2015 may complete the requirements in accordance with the resolutions in force at the time of their commencement, provided that requirements are completed by 1 January, 2020. The Faculty may specify a later date for completion or specify alternative requirements for completion of candidatures that extend beyond this time.
