Biology
Honours
Honours in biology is a one-year program embedded within the Bachelor of Advanced Studies. Honours is comprised of a total of 48-credit points that is distributed across a 36-credit point research project that gives you the opportunity to take part in cutting edge research programs aligned with your degree major(s) and two 6-credit point coursework units that collectively will develop fundamental research and communication skills in science together with access to a comprehensive range of modern technology platforms. Honours is available to students with a major in biology or a cognate area. Admittance into the program is determined by the Faculty of Science as well as the honours coordinator. You will be given advice about connecting with supervisors during your third year and the first step in applying for honours is completing the honours project preferences form.

6 | A Completion of a major in a science discipline. Basic knowledge of other sciences is beneficial. Experience in communication such as delivering oral presentations and producing written reports. An awareness of science in a societal context, e.g., of disciplinary applications. Mid-year honours students would take this unit of study in S1 (their second semester of study). |
