| Exemption from core units of study should not be assumed to be automatic. Formal approval must be obtained from the Sydney Law School prior to enrolment. | |||
| Students must complete 48 credit points, comprising: | |||
| (i) 24 credit points of core units of study and 24 credit points of elective units of study, including a minimum of 24 credit points from the Sydney Law School, for students without a law background; or | |||
| (ii) 18 credit points of core units of study and 30 credit points of elective units of study, including a minimum of 24 credit points from the Sydney Law School, for students with a law background. | |||

| LAWS6252 Legal Reasoning and the Common Law System |

Law graduates from a non-common law jurisdiction are also recommended to complete classes for this unit during the first week of their commencing semester. |
