Advanced Coursework

Requirements for the Bachelor of Advanced Studies (Coursework)

The Bachelor of Advanced Studies (Coursework) is available in the following pathways:

  • Business
  • Humanities#
  • Science
  • Social Sciences#

To qualify for the award of the Bachelor of Advanced Studies (Coursework), a student must complete 48 credit points comprising:

  • a minimum of 24 credit points of 4000-level advanced coursework units of study, including 12 to 36 credit points of 4000-level advanced coursework project units, from the relevant Table A (i.e. Business, Humanities, Social Sciences or Science);
  • any additional elective units of study from the Table S 4000-level elective units required to make up the 48 credit points total.

Students enrolled in the standalone Bachelor of Advanced Studies (Coursework) should disregard the pre-requisites attached to the units within the Units of Study tables, as these will be waived.

Students requiring any advice regarding selection for units of study or to seek special permission to enrol in other units of study should contact the Student Centre.

#Additional requirements for the Humanities and Social Sciences Pathways

Students enrolled in the Humanities or Social Sciences pathways are required to complete 24 credit points from a single subject area of study, as specified in the relevant Table A and based on the major(s) they completed in their qualifying bachelor degree.

Philosophy and historical inquiry

Ancient History; Cultural Studies; Gender Studies; History; Philosophy or equivalent majors.
