About Honours
Honours is an additional program during which meritorious students build on their undergraduate studies by completing a self-directed research project. This may be integrated into the undergraduate degree or require an additional year of study.
Students will learn vital research skills, extend their knowledge and critical thinking skills by undertaking an independent research project under academic supervision and undertake challenging honours coursework. Honours can prepare students for a higher degree by research, such as a master’s by research degree or a PhD, and equip them with attributes for a range of careers.
Students should also refer to the Current Student site Applying for Honours to understand the steps involved and faculty specific requirements.
