Media Practice
Coursework
The Media Practice degrees focus on media industry content production in the dynamic, digital, and increasingly global field of media and communications. Areas of study include writing for media, interviewing, video production, audio design and podcasting, social media communication, media law and ethics, Chinese media studies in global contexts, and international media practice. This course will extend your written, spoken and visual communication skills, and enhance your conceptual media production skills for diverse media platforms. Through research and analysis, you will also develop a sophisticated understanding of the media industries, policy and regulatory settings, audiences, labour market dynamics and global trends.
At the master’s level, career readiness is offered for positions in journalism, social media, and multiplatform conceptual media content production. The master’s degree elective internship unit offers the opportunity to gain valuable work experience before graduation. The graduate diploma and graduate certificate courses provide shorter avenues to explore new career directions or to update and extend your professional skills.
