Degree progression requirements for the Doctor of Medicine
By the end of their third year of study, full-time students who have completed the requirements for their Bachelor of Commerce degree (144 credit points) are eligible to graduate with this degree. Those students who have completed the Bachelor of Commerce, (including the required medicine 'SMTP' and science units) in the minimum time required and maintaining, as a minimum, a credit average (65 percent) in this degree, are eligible to apply for admission to the degree of Doctor of Medicine. After admission, students then complete an additional four years of study with the Sydney Medical School. (Further details are available in the Sydney Medical School Handbook).
If a student fails to satisfy the minimum requirements for admission to the Doctor of Medicine degree, they are transferred to candidature for the single degree and graduate with the Bachelor of Commerce only.
