(2) If an extension is not sought, not granted, or is granted but work is submitted after the extended due date, the late submission of assessment will result in an academic penalty as follows: (a) For non-public-presenation assessments, work submitted after the deadline will incur a penalty of 5% of total awardable marks for the assessment per calendar day. Work submitted 20 or more days after the deadline will not be assessed and receive a mark of zero. The description for the following unit has been updated: NUTM3002 Nutrition and Metabolism Advanced Concepts Nutrition is a multidisciplinary science that covers the role of food in health and disease. Advances in biomolecular science have increased the focus of nutrition on the metabolic pathways that transform nutrients. This unit of study aims to explore recent advances in nutritional science and builds on the introductory concepts of nutrition and metabolism that were explored in NUTM3001. The focus will be the assessment of the biochemical reactions that take place in cells and the complexity of the interaction between human metabolic health and the environment in an interdisciplinary context. Students are provided a research training opportunity to contribute to our understanding of the relevant problems of over-nutrition in our society. Collaborative research is supported by lectures and tutorials on nutrition science, ‘big data’ management strategies and approaches to data analysis. |
