Psychology

Honours

Honours in Psychology is a one-year component embedded in the Bachelor of Advanced Studies. It offers graduates provisional registration as a psychologist and enables them to apply for further postgraduate study leading to full registration as a professional psychologist in Australia. It also opens a wide range of other career opportunities in research and industry.

This includes a 24-credit point research project and 24-credit points of advanced coursework that deepens content knowledge and increases research skills.

To be eligible, students must complete the accredited Psychology Program or an equivalent accredited degree from another university.

Honours in Psychology is available for a semester 1 start only.

The Bachelor of Advanced Studies (Honours) (Psychology) requires 48 credit points from this table including:
(i) 12 credit points of 4000-level Honours coursework core units, and
(ii) 12 credit points of 4000-level Honours selective units according to the following rules
(a) 12 credit points of Advanced Seminar units, or
(b) 12 credit points of Theoretical Thesis units
(iii) 24 credit points of 4000-level Honours research project units
