Using the Science handbook
The Science Undergraduate Handbook contains information on the course rules and units of study requirements specific to courses offered by the Faculty of Science. Use this handbook when planning your studies to ensure you meet specific requirements and understand the rules for the course you are enrolled in. Note that for the duration of your course, you will need to follow the rules in the handbook from the year you commenced your studies.
Refer to the left-hand side menus and top of the handbook for tabs which direct you to a range of information
Coursework
You can locate the course in which you are enrolled in through this section. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with the Course Resolutions. The Course Resolutions detail the requirements for award, progression rules, admission to candidature, course transfer and transitional provisions.
Other information included in this section may include the unit of study table, unit of study descriptions, sample enrolment tables and course learning outcomes.
Subject Areas
The subject areas are broken into 3 sections and listed alphabetically on the top tabs: A-E, F-M, N-Z. Note that all students in Bachelor of Science courses will need to complete the Degree Core and this is outlined in the Table A Degree Core Units of Study page. The Table A overview also provides information on the Advanced Stream, Dalyell Stream and Science Electives.
Under each of the subject area, there is a general page with a summary of the subject area and contact details for the School that teaches the area. The tabs underneath each subject area will detail the requirements for completing the minor/major/stream/program in the Unit of Study table and Unit of Study descriptions. In these sections you can find information such as the sessions which the unit is offered, the credit point value, rules of the unit and mode of delivery. If the subject area can be taken as Honours, this will be listed in this section and you can find the Honours specific unit of study table and description details.
Honours
