Graduate Diploma in Science
Relationship of Graduate Diploma to research degrees
The Graduate Diploma in Science serves as an entry qualification for the degrees of Master of Philosophy or Doctor of Philosophy. It consists of equivalent work to that carried out by candidates enrolled in honours courses in the fourth year, and is normally available to candidates who may not be eligible to enrol in those courses. The normal duration of the degree is one year full-time or two years part-time.
Course requirements
Intending students should consult the Honours table for the range of disciplines offered. After discussion of your interests with a relevant member of academic staff, an application should be lodged. Entry to the Graduate Diploma is subject to approval by the relevant Head of School or Discipline Area, the Faculty, and confirmation that requirements for the award of a relevant Bachelor's degree have been met.
