Doctor of Philosophy
The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) is different from all the other degrees offered by the University as it is the only degree offered at the University level, with the same regulations governing a PhD student whether the student is in fine arts, medicine or architecture.
The Resolutions governing the degree of Doctor of Philosophy are found in Policy Online sydney.edu.au/senate/policies/PhD_Rule.pdf. The resolutions must be read in conjunction with applicable University By-laws, Rules and policies including (but not limited to), the University of Sydney (Student Appeals against Academic Decisions) Rule 2006 (as amended) and the Academic Board policies on Academic Dishonesty and Plagiarism and University of Sydney (Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)) Rule 2004 (as amended).
