Internationally acclaimed faculty research programs in animal health, production and welfare are creating solutions and rapidly advancing the creation and dissemination of knowledge.
Our veterinary teaching hospitals provide world-class clinical services using the latest in technology for the care of small animals, wildlife, livestock and horses, and are the site for training the next generation of veterinary practitioners and specialists. Your animals are always welcome in our general practice, specialty and ambulatory services, after-hours emergency service and wildlife hospitals.
Be prepared to contribute your ideas and feedback as we strive to be our best. Our members of staff are committed to creating innovative, effective learning experiences which incorporate global perspectives. They provide support and guidance with learning and the challenges of student life. The Sub-Deans, your unit of study and year coordinators, the Faculty Manager and the supportive staff in the Faculty Office, will help direct you with caring advice and support.
Graduates are entering the profession at an exciting time. Most veterinarians start their careers in clinical practice; however their broad knowledge and skills open up a wide range of careers in public practice, animal industries, food production, laboratory animal medicine and research. Graduates of the BAnVetBioSc enjoy excellent employment rates and starting salaries, contributing in a diverse range of animal industries, reproductive technology, biomedical research, genetics and nutrition. A commitment to lifelong learning and critical inquiry are distinctive features of Sydney graduates that stem from our passion for research, and self-improvement.
