Arts and Social Sciences (Undergraduate) Handbook 2014
Our mission is to engage in research and teaching across the breadth of the humanities and social sciences that makes a difference to the lives of our students, staff and the wider world. What is distinctive about our Faculty is the way we incorporate our internationally recognised research into our teaching and how, in turn, that research is deeply shaped by our engagement with our students and the broader community. In joining us, we want to help you develop the intellectual skills to not only succeed in life, but gain meaning and value from it as well.
Attention students continuing into 2nd and 3rd year:
As part of a major curriculum review a number of units of study have had their pre-requisites changed between 2013 and 2014.
As a result you may find that you no longer meet the pre-requisites for a unit of study as they appear in this handbook. If you are a student continuing into your 2nd or 3rd year you may be able to enrol into units under the pre-requisites found in the 2013 Handbook. Please contact the Faculty at arts.undergraduate@sydney.edu.au if you believe you meet the 2013 pre-requisites of a unit but are having difficulty enrolling.
Please also be aware that the requirements of our majors have changed significantly between from 2013 to 2014. If you are a continuing student you can complete the major under the rules that were in place in the year you first enrolled – you do not need to meet the new requirements of the major.
If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Faculty either in person or via email at arts.undergraduate@sydney.edu.au
