Flight Data Analysis

Flight Data Analysis specialisation explores in great depth the behaviour of an aircraft and will provide you with the knowledge to understand its handling qualities and how to design control systems.

The specialisation is also designed to allow you to understand how to estimate the flight parameters from experimental data using real flight or wind tunnel data.

Students complete 18 credit points from the following:
AERO5200
Advanced Aerodynamics
6    A BE in the area of Aerospace Engineering or related Engineering field.
P AERO9260 or AERO8260 or AERO3260

Note: Department permission required for enrolment

Semester 2
AERO5206
Rotary Wing Aircraft
6    A Prior Learning: concepts from 3000 level Aerodynamics and Flight Mechanics will be applied to Rotary Wing Vehicles in this unit.
P (AERO3260 OR AERO9260 or AERO8260) AND (AERO3560 OR AERO9560 or AERO8560)
Semester 2
AERO5750
Unmanned Air Vehicle Systems
6    A AERO1560, AERO1400, AMME2700, AERO3460, AERO3560, AERO3260, AERO3261 and AERO4460.
P (AERO3260 OR AERO9260) AND (AERO3460 OR AERO9460) AND (AERO3360 OR AERO9360) AND (AERO3560 OR AERO9560)
Semester 2
Units taken for the specialisation will also count toward requirements of the Aeronautical stream. Additional stream elective units should be taken as per the Aeronautical stream table.
